I agree that it's good to help a bride-to-be as much as possible. It's inevitable that a number of people other than the bride and groom will be a little more controlling about the details than they should be. And all of the many details are often stressful, too.

Excellent post! Maybe the reason someone has been left off the list is that they would be mature enough to understand and love the couple anyway!

Years ago I had a friend whose one daughter eloped. The next one and then the youngest ones weddings we were not invited to. We were very surprised to be invited to the last one of their 4 children getting married. Go figure!

My daughter is going through the same thing. Both sides have rather large families. My daughter is very social and has a huge circle of friends that, unfortunately, cannot be invited to the wedding due to space and budget restrictions. I know she labored long over her list and it hurt both her and her husband to have to leave a lot of friends off the invitation list.
